What is Serendipity?
Serendipity is a lightweight and flexible blog and content management system (CMS). It is designed for users who want a simple yet powerful way to manage blog posts and web content, with support for plugins, themes, and advanced configuration. Ideal for both personal blogs and professional websites, Serendipity is known for its ease of use and strong plugin architecture.

Softaculous helps you install web applications very easily. Please follow the steps below to install Serendipity:

Step 1. Log in to your cPanel account.

Step 2. In the Software section, click on Softaculous Apps Installer.

Step 3. You will be redirected to the Softaculous interface.

Step 4. On the left-hand side, locate the Blogs category and click on Serendipity.

Step 5. Click on Install.

Step 6. Under Software Setup:

  • Choose Installation URL: Select the correct protocol and domain. If installing in a subdirectory (e.g. example.com/blog), enter the directory name. Leave it blank to install in the root domain.

Step 7. Under Site Settings:

  • Site Name: Enter a name for your site (e.g. My First Website).
  • Site Description: Provide a short description of your blog or website.

Step 8. Under Admin Account:

  • Admin Username: Choose a secure username (avoid using “admin”).
  • Admin Password: Use a strong password.
  • Real Name: Enter your full name or leave it blank.
  • Admin Email: Enter a valid email address.

Note: Save your admin login credentials. You'll need them to access the Serendipity dashboard.

Step 9. Choose your preferred language for the blog.

Step 10. Advanced Options: These can be left as default unless you wish to set a custom database name or enable automatic backups. Frequent backups can consume disk space.

Scroll down to the bottom and click on Install to complete the setup.
